13 May Doug Meyer’s Heroes book in Elle Decor
When Doug Meyer was tapped to design Flexform’s space at DIFFA’s Dining by Design event in 2015, he knew he wanted to create an installation that reminded guests of the original reason the organization was founded. Meyer, a conceptual artist and designer who, with his brother Gene, creates collections of fabric, wallpaper, rugs and tiles, created three-dimensional hand-made “portraits” of some of the earliest creatives lost to AIDS -- including designers Angela Donghia and Robert Metzger and architect Alan Buchsbaum -- and installed them in the space, along with their obituaries from the New York Times. I was invited to moderate a conversation between jewelry designers Amedeo Scognamiglio and Roberto Faraone Mennella at Savannah College of Art and Design. It took place in the theatre at the museum there, and was honestly one of the more fun of these types of events that I've ever been involved with. 50-plus doors from the Chelsea Hotel in New York City will be auctioned next week via Guernseys. 20 Mar Chable Resort, Mexico in Luxury Magazine
Chable, a resort located about 45 minutes from Merida, Mexico, opened last year. Designed by Paulina Moran, it's one of the best resorts, all-around, that I have ever visited. Each room is a free-standing modernist house with its own pool, hammock, indoor and outdoor shower, etc, the Hacienda on property dates to the 1800s, and the spa is beyond. You can read more here....

John Derian has made East Second Street a must-visit shopping destination, thanks to over 20 years on that block and now three stores.
