22 May Moderated a panel at ICFF

With these guys – the actor Terry Crews, singer Tift Merritt, and Jerry Helling, president and creative director of Bernhardt Design, who convinced those two to create collections for him, and me to moderate a panel during ICFF.  This was not my first go at the moderating rodeo, but one of the more interesting, because it addressed the whole “celebrities in design” elephant in the room. Like, why would you ask an ex-NFL-player-turned actor to do furniture, as well as a singer AND one of the founders of Air BnB, unless you’re selling out/going the influencer route? Seriously one of the best talks ever, thanks to the honesty of all involved.

Also a huge thank you to Jerry, who got us swivel chairs instead of the usual stools (ever sat on a high stool, in front of an audience, for an hour? it’s all sorts of uncomfortable).
