Evocative Style is Kelly Wearstler's latest book, featuring four residential and four commercial interiors that mark a huge departure from what you think you know about her style. I was in a dressing room at J. Crew when I got an email from Kelly asking if I'd help her write it. That was back in February; it is officially released tomorrow, October 1st. More details here....

An amazing, Chicago-based artist, who sort of accidentally created a technique called "ice casting." Read all about it here....
At a glance, the works of German artist Pia-Maria Raeder resemble white coral that might have washed up on a beach in an exotic locale. But a closer inspection reveals that the organic, undulating shapes of her Sea Anemone collection of furniture, lighting, and mirrors are created with thousands of beechwood rods that she cuts and arranges by hand in her studio in Munich. Fashion designer Jason Wu has designed a collection of upholstered seating that will debut on Interior Define in a few days. In this Q+A style piece Jason dished on a variety of topics from shopping online to design pet peeves to his favorite building and the fact that his cats do indeed match his upholstery. Read it here (paywall)....
Gorgeous George is Cape Town's first ever Design Hotel, located on St. George's Mall (a pedestrian walkway) in the center-ish of town. Interiors by Johannesburg-based designer Tristan DuPlessis, rooftop restaurant (Gigi) helmed by Chef Guy Bennett and bar program created by Jody Rahme. Read more here....
