There’s something about ancient civilizations that inspire and fascinate like no other: Pompeii in Italy, Machu Picchu in Peru, Petra in Jordan, and of course the pyramids of Egypt.  The latter especially is “a place that a significant amount of people around the world want to visit,” said Eric Monkaba, who customizes travel itineraries for private clients through his company, Tripscaper. Now based in Los Angeles, Monkaba lived in the middle east and north Africa, including Cairo, for over a decade. “I can’t think of anywhere else on the planet with a greater density of palpable history.
