Susan Foslien is the owner of the still-under-the-radar after all these years store Susan, on Sacramento Street in San Francisco. She's got a major cult following despite almost purposely avoiding press and having no website. But, through a friend, I somehow got her to agree to not only be interviewed on the record, but to be photographed for an international publication. As the jewelry editor for JCK Magazine, I pull all the jewelry needed for the original shoots the magazine requires/produces. In the May issue, this includes a story where illustrator Bruno Grizzo was commissioned to create fashion illustrations that incorporated jewelry. I was charged with finding pieces that were (mostly) malleable but also a few statement items. I think the results are really fabulous, and am including some shots, below.
